The World Health Community continues to monitor closely the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the disease it causes, named "corona virus disease 2019" (COVID-19). At this time, no one knows how severe this outbreak will be. Given this uncertainty, we are taking proactive steps to address a number of business concerns.

All offices will be closed to the public effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020 until further notice, but you can contact us via email or phone. Only emergency work orders or infestation will be done at this time. We strongly ask that you pay your rent in a timely manner by phone (888) 524- 5424 or online.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have made various recommendations as to how to reduce the potential for the coronavirus to spread, which we are implementing throughout our organization. Everyone should continue promoting everyday disease prevention strategies:

  • If you are sick, stay home from work or school.
  • Avoid close contact with those who are already sick.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or the crook of your arm.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth.

We at the Housing Authority of Florence know that there is a great concern surrounding the coronavirus and we want you to know we are taking every precaution to keep our residents and employees safe. As we become aware of additional information regarding the situation, we will continue to keep you informed of any additional changes.

We encourage you to take advantage of the MUSC Health Virtual Care telehealth service, which is available at no cost to all Medicare-primary members. Additionally, MUSC Health is offering COVID-19 screenings free of charge to anyone experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms located in South Carolina.

Here's how to use this service:
Go to www.MUSChealth.org/virtual-care.

  1. Click Get Care Now, then Create Account.
  2. Select State Health Plan, then Continue.
  3. If you are not a State Health Plan member, use the code COVID 19 when you log in to take advantage of the free service.

We appreciate your patience in this matter and if you have any further concerns or comments, please contact your manager at (843) 586-2674.
