FSS Orientation July 2025
Residential Service One-Stop Shop Hosts Orientation for Family Self-Sufficiency Program Participants
Florence, SC - The Residential Service One-Stop Shop successfully hosted two orientation sessions for participants in the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program on Wednesday, July 23, and Wednesday, August 6. A total of 25 participants attended the sessions, which were designed to welcome new enrollees and provide a comprehensive overview of the program.
Each orientation featured a detailed presentation covering the FSS Program's structure, goals, and available opportunities. Participants also received a Participant Handbook, which outlines program guidelines, expectations, available resources, and the path toward achieving economic self-sufficiency.
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program is a voluntary program that empowers families receiving housing assistance to become economically independent through employment, education, financial literacy, and community partnerships. Its mission is to support individuals and families in achieving long-term stability and self-reliance by connecting them with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
The sessions also included an open forum for participants to ask questions and engage directly with program staff. This interactive component helped to build understanding and confidence as participants begin their journey toward self-sufficiency. The orientation emphasized the collaborative nature of the program and highlighted the on-going commitment of the Housing Authority of Florence and its community partners to participant success
