Family Self-Sufficiency Program Participants Explore Career Resources Through Vocational Rehabilitation Information Session

Florence, SC - On Wednesday, July 9, the Residential Service One Stop Shop welcomed representatives from South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation to host an informative session for participants of the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program. The event was attended by 11 participants, all of whom gained valuable insight into the variety of support services available through Vocational Rehabilitation.

During the session, Vocational Rehabilitation staff shared information about their wide range of services designed to assist individuals in overcoming barriers to employment. Topics covered included job readiness training, vocational assessments, educational support, and career counseling. The presentation emphasized how these services can help participants achieve long-term employment goals and greater economic independence.

As a result of the session, six participants registered with Vocational Rehabilitation to begin receiving individualized support, including job readiness preparation and vocational evaluations tailored to their career interests and personal needs.

The event reflects the ongoing commitment of the Residential Service One Stop Shop and the Housing Authority of Florence to connect FSS participants with valuable community partners and resources that support their journey toward self-sufficiency.
