Family Self-Sufficiency Program Hosts Second Home Tour Workshop

Florence, SC -  On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program hosted its second Home Tour Workshop of the year, providing participants with a valuable hands-on experience designed to support their journey toward homeownership.

The interactive workshop was part of an ongoing series of guided home tours throughout the year designed to help participants gain practical knowledge and real-world exposure to the housing market.

During the event, participants toured available homes alongside a local realtor, Mrs. LaTekia Magazine, of The Magazine Experience and Axen Realty and received firsthand insight into the homebuying process. Attendees learned important tips on what to look for when viewing a home, understanding market value, evaluating neighbor-hood features, and identifying key questions to ask before making a purchase decision.

The workshop moved beyond the traditional classroom setting by giving participants an opportunity to experience the housing market in a meaningful and engaging way. The event encouraged participants to build confidence, increase their understanding of the homebuying process and prepare for future homeownership opportunities.

The FSS Program plans to offer additional home tours later this year to provide broader participation opportunities and continued support for aspiring homeowners.
